Meet the Season 2 Coaches!

Joshua Baron

Joshua Baron is passionate about finding and cultivating talented singers from around the world. He has gained nine years of experience in producing singing competitions, and training performers from all over the country in all different styles of music through his experience with the KWC organization. As well as by throwing local competitions with his company Absolute Karaoke which he formed with his good friend Patrick Clark in 2008. Over the years Absolute Karaoke has been able to produce a good portion of the singing competitions in Seattle, “The Singers Showcase”, “Just Sing Already”, and “Karaoke Battle in Seattle” just to name a few.

Josh boasts a diversified background, beginning with studying Opera at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, then moving on to Musical Theatre at Columbia College, he has taken pieces of these experiences over the years to develop a dynamic understanding of many varied types of musical genres. While attending college, he gave vocal lessons to high school students as a peer mentor while maintaining his studies. Utilizing the skills learned from his time at college allowed him to stage manage and act at Second City in Chicago, Illinois, and stage manage and produced The Penises Response to the Vagina Monologues at the Theatre Building on Belmont, also in Chicago.  After taking a brief hiatus from performing, he went back to school and earned his degree in Animation and Film from the International Academy of Design and Technology. With that degree he was able to be the Head Artist and Art Director at Studio Laser in Chicago, IL.

After moving to Seattle and taking some time to settle into the area and work within other areas of interest, he inevitably found his way back to the microphone through hosting karaoke shows.  This unknowingly would lead to the creation of his company, and then eventually being named the Washington State director of KWCUSA from 2010 to 2012.  Returning to the role in 2015 to 2016, he is now currently the National Director of the Karaoke World Championships of the United States of America and US Partner to the KWC 2017.  He hopes to share his experience and expertise this year with his Keep on Singing team and each individual artists and build on their existing talent.
