Arkansas State Co-Directors

Corey Baldwin & Christopher Donahue

The great state of Arkansas has historically been a powerhouse in the KWCUSA over the past years the have been involved.  The Karaoke World Championships United States of America (KWCUSA) is excited to announce the Co-Direction of the state under the leadership of Christopher Donahue and Corey Baldwin.  

 

Christopher Donahue Owned and Operated Good Tymez Karaoke in Central Arkansas for 10 years. He has judged, hosted, and emceed karaoke contest for 7 years. He has judged several preliminary pageants in the Miss Arkansas System as well as coached competitive cheerleading, gymnastics, baseball and softball.  He boasts a beautiful 7 year old daughter Callie Kay, who he enjoys spending time with as a coach her softball team and getting her ready to be Miss America 2030! He enjoys karaoke, coed softball and coaching and is excited to bring some of these things together in one.

Corey Baldwin 'Dj Double C' Is A Multi-State Dj. With Over 14 years in the industry Dj Double C has  traveled to Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, and of course Arkansas to DJ Wedding Receptions and Host Karaoke with one of the Largest Karaoke Selection in the state of Arkansas. Double C has also DJ’ed for Professional Boxer Jermaine Taylor and Country Artist Justin Moore and also has had the privilege to meet American Idol’s Kris Allen and Danny Gokey and The Voice Star Barrett Baber. Double C Was Born and raised in Hot Springs where he Resides with his wife and 4 Children Ella "11" Leah "10" Noah "8" Chandler "2" and A Newborn Baby Girl Noelle. Double C also loves to have fun at local shows and is excited to promote the talented singers of Arkansas to the National stage.  

Colorado State Director

Karaoke World Championships United States of America (KWCUSA) announces the return of Colorado under a new KWCUSA Colorado State Director Jason Yockey.

Iowa State Director - David Moravek

  Karaoke World Championships United States of America (KWCUSA), is excited to announce the  return of David Moravek as

           The KWCUSA State Director for the state of Iowa for a second year!

 

           “We are very happy to include the state of Iowa in the national quest for the very best karaoke singers again this year.   Boasting the 'Best Place  to Karaoke' for three consecutive years running we are sure David will help the local singers of Iowa put forth their best  and put together a competitive team to take on nationals! "

             David Moravek is the owner of AJ's on East Court, Iowa premier karaoke bar.  David is a Des Moines native, and AJ's is located in the                  East Village portion of Des Moines Iowa capital city.  AJ's on East Court has been voted by the people 3 years in a row, "Best Place to                    Karaoke".

Mid-Atlantic Regional Director

Rob 'Rob Bob' Gomez

Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, & D.C.

Karaoke World Championships United States of America (KWCUSA) announces the selection of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Director Robert 'Rob Bob' Gomez.  His venue WannaB's Karaoke in Virginia Beach, took the chance last year and was the only participating location for the state of Virginia in  KWCUSA 2017.  His venue placed some exceedingly talented singers in the US finals and he hopes to expand the KWCUSA to include more of the talented singers in the Mid-Atlantic Region by becoming a regional director for the the states of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia.  

Minnesota State Director

Neil Turner

Karaoke World Championships United States of America (KWCUSA) is proud to announce the KWCUSA State Director for Minnesota for the 2018 contest year will be Neil Turner of Turnin' Heads Productions.  Neil has been part of the KWC before as a state director and will bring knowledge along with his passion for finding the next US Finalist from within his home state of Minnesota.  If you would like to contact Neil about the upcoming contest season in MN please email to: nturner@turnnheads.net

Ohio State Co-Directors

Michael & Sissi Thompson

Karaoke World Championships United States of America (KWCUSA) is proud to introduce Michael and Sissi Thompson as the new Ohio State Directors for the 2018 year!  

 

Michael and Sissi both have strong backgrounds in music and theatre. They are both Thespian geeks and love Musical Theatre. Michael majored in music at Belmont in Nashville focusing on commercial vocal performance and traveled with Celebrity Cruise lines as an entertainer for 4 years. Michael and Sissi run an entertainment business in Columbus and he has been a Professional Ballroom Dancer/Instructor for 18 years. Michael has performed and competed at many national events and has won several vocal/karaoke comps including representing KWC Ohio State for 2 years. Sissi studied Music as well with a focus on Opera and piano. She was raised in the church and was surrounded with music. Her Dad was a Southern Gospel DJ in Atlanta, and singer and piano player himself. Sissi has always been involved in music as an singer/ songwriter. Being a part of the Florida Opry, Singing local and national events as well as studio work for. Songwriter/demos and artists. She has worked in the travel industry and has owned her own Wedding/Special Events company for nearly 20 years. She has performed/ competed in numerous productions and comps including most recently "Heart of Ohio" as grand champion and Representing KWC as Florida State Female Champion and this past year representing KWC Team Ohio. Michael and Sissi met in Little Rock at KWC National comp in 2015 and began a long distance relationship that took them all the way to KWC Vegas last year where they were they not only competed but they were married during our KWC National competition surrounded by our KWC Family. Michael and Sissi are excited to represent Ohio again as State Directors and look forward to a rewarding year with Team Ohio showing up with some stellar talent.

Texas State Director

Chris Wilson

Karaoke World Championships United States of America (KWCUSA), continues building on the success of Team Texas 2017 with Chris Wilson continuing his leadership in the state of Texas.         

 

             “They say everything is bigger in Texas and Chris Wilson is ready to prove that goes for talent as well as the KWCUSA Texas State Director for the 2018 competition year.  Chris will add a newfound energy  to a diverse and talented state adding venues along with the backing of his normal gig with his Rock-a-roke band  he is committed to making sure Texas has found the very best 'TEAM TEXAS' contestants to send to the KWCUSA National Finals for 2018.”

Washington State Director

Konomi Rivers

Karaoke World Championships United States of America (KWCUSA)  appoints 2016  KWC Duet Gold Medalist Konomi Rivers as the 2018 KWCUSA Washington State Director. 

    Konomi was born into a musical family and is the second oldest of four children.  She has been singing since she was five years old.  Her mother was a club singer from Tokyo, Japan, and her father who served in the military was a former DJ in Brooklyn, New York.

    Konomi is a lover of all types of music. Her styles of her crafts are R&B, Power Ballads, Rock, Pop, and Heavy Metal. Having been singing and competing in many singing competitions, she knows what's expected of a competitor with the same passions and drive. She is very open minded and enjoys helping others master their craft and, in return,  hopes to gain knowledge from other unique individuals. Konomi Rivers was the Karaoke World Championships Gold medalist for 2016 in the Duets category.
