Official Judging Criteria
Judges shall award each performer between 1 and 20 points for each of the following 5 categories, based upon the following specific criteria:
LYRICS
Structure & Clarity- Lyrics are well structured and easy to follow
Originality- Lyrics present a fresh perspective or unique storytelling
Emotional Impact-Lyrics effectively convey emotions or a clear message
Word Choice-Language is strong, avoiding clichés and generic phrasing
COMPOSITION
Memorability- Song has a distinctive easy to remember melody
Flow & Transition- Composition moves smoothly between sections
Sustainability- Melody effectively compliments the lyrics and theme
Musicality- Chord progressions, rhythm, and phrasing are engaging and well-crafted
ORIGINALITY
Uniqueness- Song stands out from common trends and clichés
Innovative Elements- Song contains unique musical or lyrical components that add to the originality
Creative Approach-Song demonstrates a fresh take on structure, melody or lyrics
Accessibility- Song is innovative while remaining enjoyable for listeners
EMOTIONAL & ARTISTIC IMPACT
Engagement -Song captures and retains the listener's attention
Emotional Connection- Song evokes an emotional response for the listener
Authenticity- Artist expression is genuine and compelling
Lasting Impression- Song leaves a memorable impact after it ends
MARKETABLITY
Commercial Potential -Song has potential to appeal to a broad audience or industry professionals
Platform Versatility- Song has potential for radio play, streaming success, or live performances
